Jeff Zachman is the PGA Head Golf Professional at Piney Branch Golf Club, where he has led the golf operation and player development since 1989. A native of Ohio, he entered the pioneering Professional Golf Management program at Ferris State University in 1977 and graduated with a B.S. in Marketing in 1981.
After college, Jeff spent eight years at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland, working under renowned PGA Professional Bill Strausbaugh Jr. There, he earned his PGA membership in 1983 and developed the clear, communication-driven teaching style he still uses with players today.
At Piney Branch, Jeff has become a long-tenured fixture in the Mid-Atlantic golf community. He has served the PGA Section as an officer of the Northern Chapter and on multiple committees focused on education, employment, history, and scholarships, earning honors such as the MAPGA Horton Smith Award and the Bill Strausbaugh Award for his commitment to professional development and mentoring.
Jeff’s teaching philosophy is straightforward: keep the game fun, be realistic and encouraging, and communicate clearly so every student understands how to improve. He enjoys working with juniors, new golfers, and advanced players alike—through individual lessons, playing lessons, and group clinics—and takes particular pride in helping families learn the game together.
Corey Love is a Golf Assistant at Piney Branch Golf Club, supporting the membership with day-to-day shop operations, club repair, and player development. He has been part of the Piney Branch team since February 2020.
A Sykesville native, Corey played collegiate golf at Stevenson University before transferring to Towson University, where he graduated in 2017. Before joining Piney Branch, he taught with Golf Made Simple Golf Schools in Palm Desert, California. He served as an Assistant Professional at The Club at Cress Creek in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
Corey is currently progressing through the PGA Associate program toward becoming a PGA Professional. Away from the course, he remains deeply connected to sports, especially basketball, and serves as a coach for a middle school team at Chapelgate Christian Academy in Marriottsville, his alma mater. He enjoys working with golfers of all levels and is a resource for members seeking equipment help, club repairs, or instruction.

Wesley Samuel is an Assistant Golf Professional at Piney Branch Golf Club, working out of the Golf Shop and supporting the club’s lesson and player-development programs. He is a 2018 graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in PGA Golf Management and completed the PGA-accredited professional golf curriculum.
During his time at UMES, he strengthened his skills as both player and teacher, gained experience with advanced teaching technology, and developed a reputation for clear, practical swing analysis. He also represented UMES in collegiate events such as the PGA Minority Collegiate Championship and participated in high-level learning opportunities alongside PGA Tour Champions professionals.
Professionally, Wesley has served as Head Golf Professional at National Golf Club in Fort Washington, Maryland, and as Assistant Golf Professional at Forest Park Golf Course before joining Piney Branch. Drawing on that background, he focuses on fast, accurate swing evaluations and simple, confidence-building adjustments designed to help players of all levels enjoy the game and see measurable improvement.
